I spent a wonderful time speaking with the Chairman, who shared his deep wisdom of silkworm cocoon . 🐛➡️🧵
Because silk shares a very similar composition to human skin, it feels incredibly soft and comfortable to the touch. This soap is crafted with that very silk, making it exceptionally gentle on your skin. For the best experience, please lather well before use
A Look at the History:
The Peak: In 1959, Japan was home to 1,871 silk mills.
The Global Impact: Back in 1932, a staggering 93% of raw silk in the US was imported from Japan.
Today: Now, 98% of raw silk used in Japan is imported from overseas, making mills like Miyasaka incredibly precious.
Industrial Roots:
Look closely at these machines! One of the spinning machines was actually manufactured by Nissan. 🚗⚙️ Different machines are meticulously chosen based on the thickness of the thread and the quality of the cocoons. There is no doubt that silk production was the true engine behind Japan’s rapid industrialization.
