Hikawa shrine 氷川神社
They namesake of Omiya is Hikawa Shrine(Omiya means "big shrine" in Japanese). Hikawa Shrine is one to fo the oldest and most revered shrines in Japan. On the 1st and 15th day of the month you can see Kagura(which is a traditional performance) on the ground of the shrine without a fee. Sometimes the dates change so please check the performance schedule.
2000年の歴史を持つ氷川神社は、日本でも最も古く・尊ばれてい
る神社の一つです。
また市の名前、大宮はこの大きな宮＝氷川神社に由来します。
毎月1日と15日は奉納祭が行われていて、無料で神楽など見られ
ますが、日程が変更することもありますので、ご注意を。
Japanese garden 日本庭園
There is one Japanese garden in the Omiya Park. You can see the beautiful contrast between seasonable flowers and pond. Just add a space between the beautiful.
大宮公園の中の1画にある日本庭園では季節の花々と池と の美しいコントラストが楽しめます。
Japanese archery grand 弓道場
You can have the good fortune of seeing a traditional Japanese archery tournament once in while.

Bonsai village 盆栽村
There are aroud 10 Bonsai gardens in this area. You can enter these gardens for free.And Omiya Bonsai Art Museum will open 28th of March 2010!
