Thank you for your visiting my Kimono salon’s website. My name is Kahori Ochi and I am trying to share Kimono with the world because I believe that Kimono is an art of peace. To this end, I have started  a Kimono experience and rental salon in Tokyo to make friends from all over the world.  I would feel honored, if you try our Kimono and are able to connect in some way with traditional Japanese philosophy, as kimono is my love and a vital part of my identity. My family has run a Kimono shop for over 50 years in Omiya but I had never wished to take it over until studying abroad in Norway in 2005 when I discovered just how important Kimono culture was to me. I then decided to take over the Kimono shop. If you are interested, here is my blog and history in more detail, please have a look at it!  In September 1959, my mother, late father, and uncle had founded a very, very small department store in Omiya, where our main shop is, even though they didn’t know anyone in the city. They came from Ehime (Therefor our cat name is Ehime)/Shikoku, a southern island in Japan. In the years following WW2, Japan’s economy began to grow and many Japanese wanted to buy new products. Our shop fit this demand because our shop trusted customers and was willing to make a loan without requiring them to put up collateral. I wrote some of my parents’ history here and would like to write more about it soon.
